Pearls of the World

To expand the Latitude pearl collection, a range of the finest pearls are also selected from farms around the globe. Our range includes:

Australian South Sea white pearls (pearls produced from Pinctada Maxima) are famous the world over because of their exceptional luster. The pearls produced are white, cream and silver with aqua, blue and pink overtones. Fancy intense yellow and a variety of golden tones are also available but are usually sourced from locations such as Myanmar and the Philippines. Earings
Black pearls from (Pinctada Margaritifera) are sourced from Tahiti and the Cook Islands in the South Pacific, these are also referred to as South Sea pearls and are generally strong in peacock green colours. Necklace
Freshwater pearls are produced by the freshwater mussel (family Unionidae or Margaritiferidae) in China. They are nucleated with tissue only (no nuclei) and tend to be more irregular in shape and come in a variety of natural colours including pinks, purples, apricots and whites. Quite often these pearls are dyed to increase colour range.
